Engelhart Talks with Lamar High School Democrats

I had the pleasure of speaking with the Lamar High School Democrats yesterday afternoon. It was a huge group of young activists. They were polite and attentive and asked good questions. I have to thank Sarah George--who I met at a bagel place when she was wearing her Lamar Democrats t-shirt one morning--for setting this up. I handed out a ton of bumper stickers, so I am hoping that the kids will slap 'em on their cars and drive around River Oaks and Upper Kirby every day for the next year.

I told them that they can really play a role in shaping the 2008 election, and encouraged them to contact me through my website or Facebook to get in touch with other campaigns that could use their help. It was a great experience, and I look forward to speaking with them again, and with other students about the importance of getting involved in the political process.
