HCDP Texas Two Step Fundraiser
Lat night the Engelhart Campaign Express Saab pulled into the parking lot of Lowe's behind the IBEW Hall on the North Loop to attend the Harris County Democratic Party Texas Two Step Fundraiser.
I ran into Nick Lampson, who's looking well. Chairman Gerry Birnberg was there, as was Court of Appeals almost-winner Jim Sharp. City Councilman Peter Brown attended with his assistant, Kathryn Griffin. I also got to meet Lenora Sorola-Pohlman, Belinda Castro and Frumencio Reyes of the Tejano Democrats. I spoke with them about coming to their meetings, speaking, and going through candidate screening. They seemed enthused that I spoke Spanish. Looking forward to that.
It was a great event. Earlier in the evening, when I was still at Joey's baseball game (they won 8-2 and Joey knocked in 2 runs and had a nice put-out from 3rd), congressmen Al Green and Gene Green spoke (I think).
