Photoblogging from the March and Rally for the Coalition for Working People and the Poor
Me talking to a marcher.
Yesterday was the long awaited march and rally. The engelhart4judge.com 2008 caravan pulled into downtown Houston for the event. We shook hands, gave out t-shirts and buttons and shook a lot of hands. We met the events organizers, took pictures, marched and listened to great speakers, including Houston City Council members Peter Brown and Carol Alvarado, and congresscritters Al Green and Sheila Jackson Lee. Sheila Jackson Lee was my congresswoman when I lived on Almeda during law school.
Here are some photos from the event:

It was a great event calling for universal health care, raising the minimum wage, and bringing the troops home. I spoke to a lot of activists, and Timothy Dixon, one of the organizers, greeted me warmly as "Mr. Future Judge." That was great. He wore one of my buttons during the march and rally, too.
