Engelhart Has Successful House Party and Meets Andrews and Kurth Litigators!

On Friday morning, January 25, 2008, the engelhart4judge.com 2008 green hybrid coasted over to 600 Travis in downtown Houston to introduce myself litigators from Andrews & Kurth, LLP.

Partner Jeffrey McClure was kind enough to meet with us and introduce us to many of the high-powered lawyers at the firm as well as their very pleasant paralegals and assistants. They were very receptive and seemed interested and up to speed on the upcoming election. We can't thank Mr. McClure and his colleagues enough for being so generous with their time. Mr. McClure invited us back, and the firm is planning a meet and greet with the Democratic judicial candidates in a couple of weeks, and we're really looking forward to that. We followed up with e-mails to the attorneys asking them to consider our qualifications in answering the HBA Judicial Qualification Poll that was on their desks.

The night before, we had a fantastic house party/fundraiser at the beautiful home of Marty & Lori Shellist. Marty is an exceedingly talented and successful employment law specialist. The event was very well attended and the Shellist's home was stunningly gorgeous. We met their very handsome son, and both sets of grandparents, and enjoyed the delicious spread of shrimp, cheeses, fruit, stuffed miniature potatoes, and chicken tenders. They really went overboard and we are grateful. Houston City Councilman Peter Brown also came to the event and we discussed the upcoming election, club and group endorsements, and the 2009 mayoral race.

We have another event scheduled for next Thursday evening at the home of Attorney Charles and Chryshanthi Vethan, sponsored by Canret, LLC. It's scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 3702 Louvre Lane, Houston, Texas 77082, 281-596-0927. Here's a link to driving directions to that event.

That should be great. Many exciting things on the horizon.
